The Seattle Seahawks are team that struggled in its early years, and then eventually built a team that would dominate its division. The team was one of the two teams added to the league that season and played their first season as an NFC team before being switched to AFC a year later. It wasn't until 1983, that this team went to their first playoff game as a wild card team.

The 1980's were a mildly successful time for the Seahawks as they made the playoffs four times in this decade. However, this was at a time when the Bronco's and John Elway were simply ripping apart the competition. When this first stage of good fortune passed without any significant wins, the team would once again go into a rebuilding mode for the future. Luckily, brighter times were ahead as the team was about to be moved into the NFC.

After they were switched back to the NFC following the Texans expansion in 2002, the Seahawks got new life in their organization. They hired Mike Holmgren as general manager and head coach and he immediately turned this franchise around. He would lead the Seahawks to their first and only NFC Championship in 2005 with players like Sean Alexander and Matt Hasselback. The team has struggled with some injuries as of late, but when healthy, they are always a force in the NFC.
