It wasn't until the 1980's that Eagles would begin winning consistently again as they suffered through the 1960's and 1970's. In 1981, this team went to its first Super Bowl and lost to the Oakland Raiders. After Dick Vermeil stepped down, this organization would be able to build great defenses but failed to win a playoff game until 1995. It wasn't until they hired Andy Reid as head coach that this team was truly brought back to prominence.

Andy Reid re-established the Eagles as a perennial contender for the NFC Championship in the 2000's as the Eagles made it to the NFC championship game on numerous occasions. However, they were only able to get to the Super Bowl once and unfortunately, it was against a dominate Patriots team.
