The Bulls first played for the city of Chicago in 1966. The city was teased as the team set the record for most wins by a new franchise that season, but it was hardly a sign of the future. The 1990s were a time of dominance that few franchises can boast of in modern time. In all, the Bulls and Jordan won six titles during this time.
Obviously, there is no replacing a great player such as Jordan, and when he left, the team started a downward spiral. It would take years before the team was able to recover from his departure, but recent drafts have proven quite fruitful for this once dominant team. The Bulls finished atop the Eastern Conference standings at the end of the 2010-11 season, grabbing the first overall seed for the playoffs.
