Just as it happened after the teams first run at the NBA title, it would quickly spiral back down in the standings. All of this would change when the team drafted high school phenom, LeBron James. As young as he was, everyone saw him as they did Kobe Bryant when he was drafted by the Lakers. LeBron did not disappoint. As the Cavaliers surrounded him with a talented supporting cast, Cleveland was once again back in the playoffs. It would make its first finals appearance in 2007, but happy days were once again short-lived.

Lebron James defected to the Miami Heat for the 2010-11 season, leaving the Cleveland franchise in total disarray. While the team did struggle and miss the playoffs that season, it did get to experience one true great moment. As the season wore down, Miami came back into town looking for an easy win. The Cavaliers would have none of it though, as Cleveland dominated the game and sent LeBron back to Miami with his tail between his legs.
